Our annual school concert is just around the corner. It will be held on 8/11/2009 from 11am-1pm @ Sek Seri Cahaya, Shah Alam. Its a private school. One of my former student is studying there. Another 2 will be joining her next year.
Preveiously we held our concert @ Bdr Sri Damansara Club House. It cant accomodate our students anymore. The initial plan was to hold the school concert @ Monterez Club but it would cost us RM1,500 for a 2 hr event. I wanna minimise the cost so that I dont have to pass the cost to the parents. After going to several places, I tried my luck @ Sek Seri Cahaya. They couldnt accomodate us on 25/10, only 8/11. I agreed immediately. Know why?
The hall is still new. They have 2 changing rooms wiv bathroom attached, fully air-conditioned. I was told by the person in charge to remind my customers that the hall akan jd a bit sejuk coz hall tu boleh accomodate 1,00o pax. Our guests maybe around 300 only.
Its not far from our school. I still have to charter 2 buses to ferry the children there.
My teachers tunggang langgang gi shopping cari costumes for the students. Half of the burden of organising this event passed to them. I cant imagine myself, tak pernah beli baju utk anak, kena beli baju for 80 children. The teachers never dissappoint me. I bagi duit - my budget RM40 per student. I know most kindies suka costumes bling bling for their students, we prefer beli baju yg the children can wear later on supaya tak membazir.
Parents have to pay RM70 per child to cover costumes, hall rental, PA system, hall decoration, buses, food for the children... I definitely have to top up the expenses.
Unlike last year, we cant provide food to families. Operator canteen kat situ chinese. Although he convinced us his workers ada muslim, rasanye agak was2. And the fact that ramai yg nak bwk datuk nenek, bibik, siblings, some come as far as Perlis & Kelantan, I dont think we can afford to provide food utk semua org. We will provide food only for our children & the teachers & the volunteers.

"Teacher Emy, Khadeja bwk mekap, dia mekapkan kwn2". Nak marah pun tak boleh bila tengok Khadeja telah memekapkan kwn2nya yg 6 year old & one of them
Although graduation ceremony for the 6 year old children (34 of them) will be held during the concert, masa photography session dah ambil gambar dia org in graduation robe. Antaranya
As of today, the Principal has yet to prepare her welcome speech & find baju for the big day...

OMG....khadeja bawak make up g skull???....aiyooo, camne la ibu bley terlepas nih....adehhh...so sowi k.emy..mesti mak2 budak2 yg kene make up to marah...
on that day nnt, pg tu ila kene trus pakai kan dia dgn baju yg dia akan pakai utk performance dia trus kan?...or shud i wear her with another baju b4 that...takut dah terkotor la pulak nnt...
Girls memang suka melawa...sanggup bangun 6 pagi nak curls rambut macam princess katanyer. No worries Teacher Emy, we all makan kenyang2 dulu before pegi. Kena bawa sweater la. Noted.
Teacher Emy kena cari baju yang bling-bling jugak. Hehehe.
I miss kindy's graduation concerts. My kids dah sekolah kebangsaan. Sekolah kebangsaan tak mampu nak buat concert.
