Q-Dees Welcomes You...

I was so nervous sehari sebelum sekolah bermula pd 4 Jan 2010...rasa mcm byk bende tak buat...

40 children (all new students) came to school on Monday & Tuesday...

I was short of 1 teacher coz Teacher Bib had to send her daughter gi asrama...Unlike last year, tak ramai parents dtg, this year agak ramai jugak yg dtg...

I couldnt beramah mesra dgn my customers coz ada yg baru dtg nak tanya psl our programmes...7 came on the 1st day of school; 5 registered...it was easy for them to make the decision coz diaorg nampak how my teachers handled the new children...Alhamdulillah, except for 2,3 children yg menangis, the rest nampak ok.

I tak bg my helper masak dulu coz takut ramai yg menangis tp nampak mcm everything was under control despite our multimedia prog - Fliptec@Q tak boleh bukak coz the HQ bg license code salah...

I ordered 100 pcs small muffins for the children. I have been a customer to Shamsul & his wife since 2007. They stay in Puncak Alam tp Shamsul mmg akan personally deliver the muffins to me walaupun kdg2 I order 50 pcs je (RM16). Kalau ada event @ Q-dees, I akan order 400-500 pcs. Kalau ada friends yg nak buat majlis, I recommend them to order muffins ni from Shamsul (019-2806780)...

Despite having 80 students & counting (my target - 85 students; short of 5), rasa agak terkilan coz as of today my new students only 45 unlike last year 50...maybe because there are 3 new kindies in my area & one very close to my center...I taknak jadikan ini sebagai alasan...its a wake up call to us...buck up or we'll be losing out...thats what I told my teachers...I know there will be more students joining us (insya allah) tp I do not want to think about this...its time to concentrate on the 80 students...

2nd day was much better. Takde parents tunggu...1/2 children still crying but yg lain already sembang with friends, happily playing with each other...

Maya Irdina, Fara Farzana ajak Teacher Emy main peekaboo...

Muhammad Najmi bisik kat telinga Teacher Emy bila nampak Teacher Emy switched on PC

"Cikgu nak bukak cerita Ultraman ke?"

Me said, "tak, teacher takde cerita Ultraman".

He said, "kat rumah ada, nanti saya bwk"...He's only 4

Syahmi (3 years old), the youngest child in school so happily playing with friends, sampai taknak balik. He's only 3...

Mu'adz, put up his hands, among the first to volunteer nak introduce himself to friends....He's only 4

Rabiyatul, walaupun Teacher Emy pakai baju lama, said this...

"Teacher, you look nice today"...mcm nak menangis...coz a young girl pun tau how to make a person feels better. Good EQ. Really hope she'll be happy being with us coz according to her, she was not happy when she was at her former school...

A friend made a comment on my status kat FB....that she likes the post psl Shahrul terkunci dlm bilik air...tiba2 mengingatkan saya bahawa this could happen to any of the children while they are in our premises...normally yg kecik2, we will supervise, yg 6 year old, they have been reminded not to close the bathroom door...tp mana nak tau kan?

So, saya telah borong 6 safety door stop & 6 cabinet slide lock

Better to be safe than sorry. Kalau Shahrul terkunci takpe lagi, kalau those children..nauzubillah...sure traumatised...thats why terkejut betul bila parents kata ada anak diaorg tak suka gi kindy lama (bukan our area) coz ada yg punish children dok dlm bathroom...these teachers shd ask Shahrul perasaan terkunci dlm bathroom...

To our new students & their parents - Welcome to Q-dees, tq for choosing us to be your partner in your child's education...

To our 35 beloved students who will be joining us & their new friends on Wed...welcome back; we just cant wait to see you again...

I've read yor blog occassionally, esp abt yor kindie, but I must say u like to "angkat bakul" on a few instances, as in this post where u mention that a girl was miserable at her previous school but found an instant liking to you by showering u with compliments. In a few older posts u had mentioned how a child was unable to read at her old pre-school but aftr going thru your miracle work/programme, the said child gained tremendous confidence, & was able to read aftr a fewshort months with u..u hav also managed to tarnish a close rival reputation by revealing how the rival had made her staff work during school holidays and but pointed out that u wouldn't do such act and that's why the said staff would rathr work with u now!..I think it is not fair of u to promote yourslf and yor establishment by comparing and writing abt a rival in a negative light just so u'l look good. Do u see McDonalds promoting their product by comparing and putting down Burger King?..or hw staff frm, let's say, a hypermarket is running 2anothr giant supermart bcoz of the work they had to endure?..think about it..I must say u should act more profesionally when it comes to promoting and expanding yor business..not in this manner..not everyone has a blog and such a wordsmith like u, hence doesn't have the chance to promote themselves or even defend themselves in this case!..Readers like me can and will definitely try to guess the rival you're refering to because there are not many pre-school in your vicinity.

Anon Teratas,

I have been following this blog too.

The Principal exudes positive traits and trying to instil them in her kindie. And there is nothing WRONG about it. Do not "kill" her enthusiasm

Pls, pick up the Positives..We all need them..

If you are her "rival" take it as a challenge/motivation!

And NO, She does not know who I am.
And I do not know her beyond this blog.

Dear Anonymous,

First & foremost, tq so much for reading my blog. I feel so honoured knowing that there's someone out there who reads about my humble life...

1) I wish I can give you the contact no of the student's mom. I did not lie when I write the compliment. Her mom came to my school & told us that she wanted to register her daughter. She just looked at our programmes briefly. It was my mistake for telling the girl's name, so maybe u know this child personally & u know from which school Rabiyatul came from.

2) We have 30 kindies in Saujana Utama. I dont even know who's my close rival. To me, I compete with myself...coz kalau nak fikir too much about my rivals, I cant focus on the task at hand; dok nak tau apa my rivals buat...mind you 30 kindies not a small no...But as a biz owner, sedikit sebyk I must know about my competitors' SWOT...

3) I dont think by telling readers that the so called competitors ask their staff to work on school hols will tarnish the so called rival reputation. I thot its the opposite coz it shows that the so called rival's staff are more hardworking than mine...

4) Pls dont compare my small biz with Mc Donalds & Burger King...mine is just a small set up...I have to do whatever it takes to promote myself & my kindy & one of the ways is through my blog...Its not my fault if other kindy operators do not have a blog to promote their kindies...I had zero knowledge when I started blogging but I was willing to learn. Only a few people I know read my blog when I first started, but I tebalkan muka buat self-promotion. Biarlah org meluat, I didnt force them, suka baca, tak suka tak payah baca...U call it "masuk bakul angkat sendiri" but dont you think I have the right to do that? Its my blog, for god sake...read it if you like...no one force u to read my blog

5) Even if I compare, I dont remember writing the names of the so called competitors; not even giving a clue...Readers wont know which kindies I was referring to. I hv been writing for more than a year & this is the 1st time, someone simply accused me of tarnishing a close rival reputation... when I dont even know who my close rival is...

6)You wrote "Readers like me can and will definitely try to guess the rival you're refering to because there are not many pre-school in your vicinity"

Why shd u do that in the 1st place? If u hv a child, I dont think u make a decision to enrol or not to enrol your child in a kindy simply by reading someone's blog esp a principal's blog. I might be biased. Definitely, you visit the school, look at the programmes, the premise, get to know the teachers etc...before enrolling your child.

7) I am so sure that you have not met me personally / have a look at our programmes...When parents came to me, I did not promise them miracles...I told them to give us atleast 6 mths before they can see improvements in their child's ability to read. Be able to read in 6 mths is no miracle. Even then, I keep telling them that every child is different. What other children can do tak semestinya their child can do. I even told them to give us atleast 2 years & I emphasised if a child comes to us when he/she already 6 years old, I cant guarantee they can become a fluent reader in a short span of time...You can double check with any of my customers & they can verify that...

No, I'm not the rival, because if I am, I'd have started a blog to thwart her a long time ago! I dnt evn hav any school-going children, just a retired old human who reads. Yes, she can be positive but it would be better if she doesn't do it at the expense of others.."killing her enthusiasm" u said Tuan Haji?..what abt her helping prospective tadika-going -parents making pre-judgemnt abt the other schools around her establishment?.."pick up the positive"?..at the end of the positive spectrum is the opposite and I cnt help but to also pick up the negative frm her writing, so like I said it'l be just of her to glorify her tadika without making any comparison to others.

Anonymous,

You wrote, "what abt her helping prospective tadika-going -parents making pre-judgemnt abt the other schools around her establishment?.."

meaning I have to compare or do I have to give good points about other kindies? and why shd I do the latter? No biz owners in the right frame of mind will take the trouble to promote his/her competitors' strength...

The parents know what best for their child...Most of the parents here are educated people.

I beg you not to read my blog anymore for fear u might pick up the negative vibes from my writing...

Read others blog where u can find motivation & inspiration.

My blog is my life. It revolves around my family, the children @ Q-dees & my friends...I want to share my life with people who love/know me...

If you find this blog doesnt benefit you at all, stop reading it once and for all.

Tq once again...

sapa pun pergi your kindy mesti rasa happy. including me. only your friends in reality know you the best.

anyway, I'm ok with your writing. tak de langsung tulis specific kindy, so why must someone worries? kindy kat SU berlimpah-ruah plak tu. sampai susah sangat nak pilih ok.

oh by the way, saya tak anto Adam ke Q-dees not because of you or anything to do with you. it's because I know my son very well. kalo anto kat Q-dees alamat tak belajar la kakak dia.

go go chaiyok, kak Emy!

what amazes me most is not only he/she is reading this blog - but that he/she is following it, too. How else would that person know Hj G has commented and you yourself have replied?

I've had someone telling me that I'm so full of myself by reading my blog. And I went , duh? It's a personal blog and I can say whatever I want. Just like you are doing here, Mdm Principal. Basic rights. Can't please everyone, so rule of the thumb is - please yourself.

So, keep on writing. You've got fans out there!!

sue,

thx...

no worries tak hantar Adam pun. parents je yg boleh tau which kindy suits their child...mother's instinct, I guess

Mira,

semua personal blogs akan nampak mcm "masuk bakul angkat sendiri"...yours especially...haha but i love reading your blog. Kdg2 bende yg tak tau jd tau. Tak kisahlah kalau nampak mcm masuk bakul angkat sendiri...I have to pay US$10.99 every year for the domain name; rugilah kalau tak promote my biz...

Madam Principal..

I sensed your genuine love n sincerity in children.. To me.. dats all that matters..Cos.. i believe.. one can only teach.. from the heart.. dat's how knowledge is passed on.. trust me.. its from my own experience.. if one is doing it just for the sake of money she earns in the end of the day... or month... usually the children.. susah nak dpt ilmu tuh.. (go figure when we were younger.. ada cikgu yg garang2..kat skolah. dat we fear.. memang tak masuk apa2 from class nih.. tapi ada certain cikgu yg very warm n loving.. so kite jadik terrer plaks subject tuh).. not im saying... takleh cikgu garang.. but so long the teacher teaches from the heart.. insyaallah.. dapatlah ilmu itu.. so to parents our there.. to find cikgu yg mengajar dari 'hati' ... sgtlah penting..

keep up the excellent work..i'm glad to find a good kindy in our neighborhood..

Mr./Mrs. Anon,

1. keselamatan anak saya - i would not be tolerate with this issue..yes, anything happen is beyond our control..tp faktor2 keselamatan bukan hanya fizikal sekolah itu sahaja malah tanggungjawab cikgu2 yg mengawasi juga penting..maklum shj budak2 umo 3-6thn bukan senang nak kontrol..lg2 bila dah ramai sgt...saya pasti saudara/saudari juga maklum...jd cikgu yg perihatin sgt mengambil berat tentang pelajar nya...which i could not find it in others kindy yg saya dah lawat sblm ini....

2. program - zaman sekarang mmg tiada yg percuma dalam dunia...everything kite kene bayar and for that saya mahukan faedah dari pelaburan yg saya keluarkan...mcm kata owner kindy ni la kan...bukan semua budak sama thp kecerdikan dan kemampuan terima pelajaran yg disampaikan tetapi kaedah pengajaran dan penyampaian memainkan peranan sgt penting bg membantu anak2 ini utk belajar dengan baik. Dalam zaman sekarang. kebanyakan ibubapa bersikap kiasu dlm memberikan pendidikan kpd anak2..saya pon xterkecuali..saya mahukan yg terbaik utk anak saya..tp dlm masa yg sama saya mahu dia belajar dalam kegembiraan bukan sebab terpaksa belajar...saya xmahu dia tenggelam dlm keterpaksaan utk belajar demi bersaing dgn org lain dlm masa yg sama dia terlepas peluang utk enjoy the fun of learnig process. Bnyk program lain saya tgk terlalu menekan anak2 ini belajar...xde fun langsung..so anak jd xsuka pegi sekolah...

3. Teachers - Ini pun penting..setiap ibu bapa perlu ada hubungan baik dengan guru2 anak mereka...saya percaya hubungan yg baik dengan guru akan memberi manafaat yg lebih utk masa depan dan pendidikan anak2...guru yg baik akan selalu berhubung dengan ibubapa utk memaklumkan perkembangan dan masalah anak2 dalam pelajran..then only the parents knows what they should do to help their children. Kalau parent datang cikgu nyorok kat belakang...ape kes????

so, kesimpulannya..saya memilih kindy ini sebab saya percaya anak saya boleh mendapat yg terbaik dr nya...sekian terima kasih...

I'm a retired 60+ person who reads many writings including blogs..allsorts of blogs & got to knw principal's blog when I came to stay with my son &his fly last yr in SU..yes, I'l stop reading her blog, but to clarify my previous comment about "how she is helping making pre-judgement"..I should've put "helping", what I meant was how she had "helped" some parents making pre-assumption abt the other kindies by comparing them to her sterling tadika..btw, I was hunting for a good reputable pre-school in SU for my grandniece last year when I chance upon her blog..I was immediately drawn to make "judgements" &"assumptions" abt othr tadika through her writings..that's what I meant about her "helping" factor.

anonymous 60+,
kalau xde keje, umur dah 60+, pergi la sekolah pondok, buat amal ibadat, buat amal kebajikan,x yah la nak kutuk-kutuk. your writing sounds maliciuos, macam ada udang di sebalik mee.xde nampak niat nak menolong orang mengimprovekan kindy tapi lebih pada condemning. At the age of 60+, you could have at least instill a more positive attitudes to youngsters like us, bukan mengumpat. kalau x suka, x yah baca. principal x paksa pun you baca. jangan nak tunjuk alim or wise. by reading your comments, it shows nothing but hasad dengki.
and we can check your IP and tahu you sapa.

dear friends,

"...if a child comes to us when he/she already 6 years old, I cant guarantee they can become a fluent reader in a short span of time...You can double check with any of my customers & they can verify that..."

I can verify that....

Last year Qme joined The Principal at age 6 & he had completed all 24 English reading books within 9 months! Now, if you give him any reading material, eng or BM, he can read fluently! Teacher yg paling seronok dgn improvement Qme is Teacher Sal of course.

And FYI, Qme tak pernah masuk tadika at age 4 and 5!

So, lu pikirla sendiri...

To Emy, bykkan bersabar. Your customer/ ex-cuxtomer know you better. You & your team must keep up the good work.
